These terms govern the use of CareShield by union representatives ("Reps") registered on the CareShield Rep Portal. By registering as a Rep, you agree to these terms in addition to the general Terms of Service. These terms are separate from the worker-facing terms.
To register as a Rep, you must be an authorised representative of a recognised UK trade union or a person acting in a representative capacity (e.g. shop steward, branch secretary). CareShield reserves the right to verify your status and suspend accounts where this cannot be confirmed.
Your Unique Connection Code (UCC) is issued to you for the purpose of allowing members to connect with you on CareShield. You must not share your UCC publicly or in a way that could allow non-members to misuse it. CareShield is not liable for unauthorised connections resulting from misuse of your code. You may regenerate your code at any time via Rep Settings.
As a Rep, you acknowledge that you have access only to aggregated, anonymised data about members in your branch. You must not attempt to de-anonymise member data, use CareShield data for purposes other than genuine union representation, or share member data with third parties without explicit consent.
CareShield processes member data on your behalf in accordance with GDPR Article 25 (data protection by design). You act as an independent data controller for any personal data you receive via CareShield (e.g. a member's name when approving a connection). You are responsible for your own compliance with UK GDPR for such data.
You may not use the Rep Portal to harass, intimidate, or discriminate against members. You may not use CareShield to conduct employer surveillance or share data with employers. Breach of this clause may result in immediate account suspension and referral to your union.
CareShield may suspend or terminate a Rep account for breach of these terms, misuse of member data, fraudulent registration, or where we receive credible reports of harmful use. Connected members will be notified of disconnection.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
