1. About CareShield

CareShield is a documentation platform designed to help UK health and care workers record, organise, and protect evidence relating to workplace incidents, harassment, bullying, and other employment matters. It is operated by HWProtect Ltd.

ℹ️ CareShield is a documentation tool, not a legal service. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice. Always consult a qualified employment solicitor before taking legal action.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use CareShield. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement. CareShield is intended for use by workers employed in the UK health and care sector.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You must use a personal (not employer-owned) email address and device.
• You must not share your account with others.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access: security@hwprotect.com

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use CareShield only to record genuine incidents that you have experienced or witnessed. You must not:

• Submit false, fabricated or misleading incident records.
• Record incidents on behalf of other people without their knowledge and consent.
• Use CareShield to harass, defame or make false allegations against any individual.
• Attempt to access another user's records.
• Use CareShield for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Not legal advice

CareShield generates documentation to help you record and organise evidence. This is not legal advice. We strongly recommend you:

• Consult a qualified employment solicitor before filing a tribunal claim or formal grievance.
• Contact ACAS (0300 123 1100) for guidance on workplace disputes.
• Seek advice from your union representative if you are a union member.

Time limits apply to employment claims. CareShield reminds you of these limits but cannot guarantee their accuracy for your specific circumstances. You are responsible for meeting all legal deadlines.

6. AI features

CareShield's Smart Incident Log uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to structure your incident description into a formal report. The AI output is a starting point for your review, not a finished legal document. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting all AI-generated content before submitting an incident record.

The AI does not have access to your profile, employer or personal details — only the raw description you provide.

6a. Wellbeing Diary

The Wellbeing Diary feature is provided as a personal journalling tool only. CareShield does not provide mental health services, clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment through this feature. Users are encouraged to seek professional support for mental health concerns.

CareShield accepts no liability for decisions made based on diary entries or wellbeing scores generated by this feature. The crisis signposting feature is designed to direct users to appropriate support resources and does not constitute emergency intervention or clinical support.

7. Subscription and billing

CareShield offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid features are billed monthly or annually. You may cancel at any time. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

8. Intellectual property

The CareShield platform and its contents are owned by HWProtect Ltd. Your incident records, evidence files, and personal data remain yours. By using CareShield you grant us a limited licence to process and store your data for the purpose of providing the service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HWProtect Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of CareShield, including (without limitation) any loss resulting from reliance on AI-generated documentation or missed legal deadlines.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of CareShield after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
